Announcing the WebARKit Website & Documentation Redesign

We are excited to announce a major milestone for our community: the WebARKit website has been completely rewritten and modernized. For this new phase, we chose a cutting-edge tech stack based on Astro and Starlight, a decision driven by an ambitious vision and big projects we have in store for the future.

Among the most noticeable additions is the new section dedicated to library documentation, a fundamental piece that fills an important gap. Now, you can finally consult detailed guides for established libraries like jsartoolkitNFT, ARnft, and jsfeatNext, as well as projects in active development like webarkit, purecv, and WebARKitLib-rs. The page already offers practical tutorials (for ARnft and jsartoolkitNFT), and we intend to enrich it further with additional examples. In the coming weeks, we will also integrate API reference pages for each library.

The online examples section has also been renewed: we removed obsolete content and updated existing examples to their latest versions to ensure a seamless testing experience.

The most exciting highlight, however, is the introduction of the Studio section, dedicated to webarkit-studio. Although still in an embryonic state, this tool promises to radically simplify the creation of WebAR applications thanks to a node-based interface, making development incredibly intuitive and immediate.

Looking to tomorrow, what does the future hold for WebARKit? We invite you to follow the evolution of webarkit and nft-tracker: for now, they are prototypes, but we are working hard to turn them into concrete reality. Furthermore, if you are looking for the Rust version of WebARKitLib, you can explore WebARKitLib-rs; if you need an alternative to OpenCV written in Rust with WASM bindings, you can try purecv, which is used internally by WebARKitLib-rs. Please keep in mind that these projects are currently WIP (Work In Progress): the code may undergo radical changes and there might be hidden bugs. Happy browsing!
